Search Block Not Forwarding to New Page

Hi all, I'm trying to use the built in search block with concrete5 to forward the user to a results page.

I made a custom template and got it looking nice in my browser. I am worried that I may have mucked some things up by adding too many files to my custom templates directory.

Then I turned to try to get the block to redirect to a page with the title & url search-results2. I didn't want this page to mess up auto-nav, so I disabled it from nav. I added a search block to main in search-results2, as suggested by forum posts and others.

However, even after enabling the option to forward to the new page, I can't seem to get it to forward, the search results always seem to show up in the header where my search bar is. Can't seem to find a relevant post about this either that helps.

I've discovered why the results weren't showing up in another page; I had defined a custom area called 'search' positioned by my theme's css.

It turns out, at least in my build, that if the search block is in a custom page area, it doesn't show up. Thus, I had to put the block into the header_nav block and change how I positioned it. So for me it's solved.
