Search not working in custom layout?

when you add a custom layout with the new add layout function, the search results can not be shown for the text in those layouts? what do i need to change in the /jobs/index_search.php

i added some lines but couldn't get it to index anything in the added layouts areas?

$is->addSearchableArea('what goes here');

try logging in to your site, and going here:
/dashboard/sitemap/search/manage_index/


then changing the mode to "blacklist", and then only check the few areas that you *don't* want to index.

then go to /dashboard/system/jobs/, and rerun the search indexing job.

Hello,
I followed the steps in the instructions. Still, my searches show no results.

I tried using the blacklist approach suggested by Tony. I also tried using the Whitelist. No luck. No matter what I do, my searches get no results.

Can someone please explain simply how to make Concrete5 search my articles?
