Search Results displaying old information

Hi
My search results page keeps displaying old information of certain pages, i can't understand where its getting this old info from.
I have removed the old versions of a page, i have run the System & Maintenance / jobs / index search engine script but it is still displaying the old results.
I'm not sure what to try next. - I'm running 5.4.2.2
Any help would be greatly received.

Try clearing your sites cache through systems, and settings in the dashboard.
Yep i have cleared the site cache as well but it still retains the old information within the search results.

Actually I found that my problem was a bit different as I was seeing in the tag block old tags from deleted blog posts. I thought they were the result of the search index but they aren't... the solution for tags is simply remove them from Page & Themes / Attributes / Tags.
