Hi All
I have just been looking through the documentation for Searching and Indexing as I wanted to add the Search function to my dev site.
I just wanted to ask if I had a custom theme installed but I had my content areas called 'Main Content or Main' would I need to still need to copy /concrete/jobs/index_search.php over to /jobs/index_search.php and amend the file or would c5 still index as I used the same names?
Also how long should the reindexing process take in the maintenance section? I tried it on a custom template and it just seemed to run for hours and in the end I gave up and did a reinstall, not sure if I was being super impatient or if that just means I did something wrong.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Just go to dashboard->sitemap->page search. There's should be a link named "setup index" on the search form. Go there.
This is by default is a whitelist. Only selected area are Indexed and by default is none. Just mark your desired area to index, and save.
try re-index your site. this should solve the indexing problem.
btw, I'm using version 5.4.0.5.
