Should I enable pretty URLs during development or wait until I am done?

The question pretty much sums up what i'm asking. :). Is there a consequesnce to enabling them?

I will not be migrating to a new server or directory, but DNS will point to a new name,

When developing code I tend to leave them off until final testing. No real justification for that. More of a habit than an analysis.

I always enable them and haven't run into any issues doing so.
