Should registered users access the dashboard?

I ask the question because I really don't want the user to add extra pages and maybe muck up the site but it would be nice for him to view the form data when visitors send a message.

Or am I getting the whole thing wrong?

Couldn't you just use advanced permissions for that (maybe regular permissions would work, not sure). Just check "Show system pages" in the dashboard and set group permissions for dashboard pages.
