Show navbar for pages guest users cannot navigate
Permalink
I have a password protected site that only allows my guest to see a couple of items on the navbar. When a user signs in the entire navbar is revealed. I would like to have the entire navbar show for the guest even though they wouldn't be able to navigate to the page. Basically, I'd like guests to see what they would have access to if they registered.
Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for the speedy reply. That works for the AutoNav, but what about the global navbar?
On my site across the top, I have "Home" and "About" with all of the sub-menus. If you were logged in, you would also see "Troop Info", "Venturing Crew", "Tree Lot", and "Photo Gallery" with all of the sub-menus. I want guest users to see the entire navbar even though they can't access it.

Just apply that same permissions setting to the global nav block.
Not sure if I'm a dumbass or I don't have the right permissions.
The global navbar itself is not an area that I edit. I change what appears on global navbar in the Full Sitemap. If I add pages and sub-pages there, it affects what the navbar looks like. I have the option of not including in navbar or allowing viewing permissions. Neither of which I want to do and I don't see the option that you prescribed.
Thanks for your help.

No, you're not, apparently your theme has it hard-coded into the template. So... you'd need to make that editable, then, by changing the header.php file, and making the nav div a GlobalArea.
PM me if you need more assistance.

Our site is hosted by a company we pay to do our coding. Sounds like I need to give them a ring and get it editable and then I can follow your advice.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
You're most welcome :)
Hai,
Don't forget to give the page required specific permissions to view/access for a given user in sitemap > page > permissions. Have you turned on advance permissions yet?
And if the autonav is hardcoded, it is best for you to make it a global block and really take full control on what can be seen or access to via your main menu, like what anchoredbutterfly explained.
Hope it helps.

When I click on Advanced Permissions, I receive a blank screen. I'm guessing the company we're working with is holding the reins on this as well.
Yes, the navbar is hard coded. I will get that switched to a global block.
Thanks.

Glad to assist. Hoped that everything would be in order. Anyway nice site and setup, clean and clear. Hope for the best.
I'm having an issue with unregistered and registered users not being able to see auto-nav on sub-pages after changing to manual permissions model.
I've tried using Guest and Registered Users as groups/group sets/group combination for both viewing and view in sitemap, but not working still (even after clearing cache); I'm using Elemental Theme.
Additionally, the edit block option doesn't give granular permissions model, only the ability to let users see pages that require registration.

Actually, just decided to try deleting the auto-nav block and re-adding it; Perfecto! FYI ;)
Ohp. Now, my "auto-nav" on sub-pages still shows a page that requires registration/not viewable by Guests.
I can't figure out how to remove that, as I have already set the permissions for the page, which works on the main page.
