Site built with C5 plus other programs

Hi all, my first post here. I'm curious to know if I can add on to an existing site using concrete5. I have a client where many pages are static images, but one or four require a CMS solution. I don't want to rebuild the site, but I would like to use C5 for the CMS.

Is this possible?

Thanks

David

I am trying to do the same thing.
Looking through forums and documentation to add only 2-3 of the 20 some pages to the CMS system and leave the rest as is...

Not sure its possible so far...

I'm not an expert, but you *should* be able to have c5 sit alongside as many static files as you want.

But I can't help but wonder if c5 is the right choice if you just want to update a few pages. What other features of c5 would you be taking advantage of beside the in-context editing? Would you even need to add pages through the CMS?

This is for a client.
They are understandable NOOBS and I wanted a lightweight, visual style editor for them.

You think I can have the site as is.. and then just link the editable pages to the CMS theme folder (where the editable regions on the pages are defined)?

Then say the user can log in and edit ONLY those pages content?

Sounds great in theory .. figuring out how to do that .. I think I am formulating how to do this. I might just drop the whole site in there and let them have at it.

I made another post on adding the whole site, what experience do you have in conversion?

If you just want the client to be able to edit text, add images, etc on existing pages (essentially static pages, but they can edit them), I'd suggest looking at Unify.

It's a super cinch to implement. Check out the videos on their site. I love c5, but for the simplest projects Unify is a dream come true.

By the way, I have no affiliation with Unify or its creators.

That said, the only conflict I see with having c5 alongside a static site is if there would be two index.php files. So the home page would probably need to be in c5. Any other page could be static or part of the CMS.
