Theres a couple things it could be like caching but this should help

Thanks for the quick response. I got that add-on and have been playing with it for an hour, but it does not seem to be working.

I set it to Default maintenance page.
Checked the users with edit permissions box.
Did not check allow registration while in maintenance mode.
Checked enable maintenance mode editor?, and updated settings.

C5 standard maintenance mode is disabled.
In site access, I have selected: Private - Only the administrative group may view the website, and checked edit access:administrators.

Cache is cleared. I called a friend out of town and she was able to look at the site. Do you have any other ideas?

Also you can limit site access another way I just thought because you were already using maintenace mode you would want to stick with it. Go to Dashboard, System & Settings, and under Permissions & access click Site Access and set it private or members only. This will (or should) display a login page when the site is visited.

Have you enabled advanced permissions by chance ?

I do already have it set up that way. You were able to see it, right?

Yes I was, have you removed or disabled the maintenace editor add-on ? Its only your home page that is visible so .. maybe just maybe its a conflict between add-on and site access settings.

Sorry, I didn't reads the last sentence of your last reply. I do not think that I have enabled advanced permissions. Is there a way for me to check?
If you can't tell, I haven't been using C5 for very long.
