Sites not logging in to admin area after migration to new server

Hi

A client of mine has recently moved their three C5.6 sites to a new provider and since the migration they are unable to login to the backend. It shows the login screen, but as soon as the 'Sign In' button is pressed it refreshes the page and does nothing. The samething is happening on all three sites.

I have been asked for advice, but I do not know why it could be doing this. Can anybody assist?

May possible have something to do with mod_rewrite. I would start with seeing if the .htaccess is working correctly. If you have access to the server logs, check the error log to see if anything is getting logged when an attempt to sign in is made.
