Slate Page Lists
Permalink
Hello, I'm new to Concrete5 and am trying to navigate best I can. I've run into a problem with the Slate theme.
Slate comes with Custom Page List Templates in 2, 3, and 4 column options. I'm trying to establish a 4 column Page List template on my home screen, but the included instructions in Slate's documentation seem...urrr...a bit vague for a newbie like me. (Perhaps the main problem is an over-usage of the very ambiguous "page" word; here's a good example: "Next, add a Page List block to the page you want the page list on.")
:-)
Anyone care to dumb-down the documentation instructions for adding Custom Page List Templates in the Slate theme?
Grateful,
Ryan, the English Lit Newb Who Understands Postcolonial Theory But Not This Stuff

Ok, yes, I'm following your systematic approach a bit better than the documentation.
One problem.....
I don't have a Page List Block to add. I've attached a screenshot for your viewing pleasure.
I tried to search for more add ons, thinking perhaps I needed to download the Page List Block....but isn't this supposed to come with my Slate theme?
Thanks for your reply! Sorry it didn't quite solve the problem. I'll contact the theme developer.
Best,
Ryan

This is telling you to:
1) Navigate to the page you want to edit
2) Put the page in Edit mode
3) Click on the area of the page that you want to add content to
4) Click on Add Block
5) In the window that appears, choose "Page List" from the list of blocks
6) Change any settings you need to in the window that comes up and click on Add
And you have your Page List... on your page. Be sure to exit the Edit mode and publish the page to save your changes.
Hope that helps. :)
If you need more help with this theme, I would contact the theme's author, or post in the theme's discussion area.
