Snail Slow Websites.

Very concerned about the slow websites, both websites are slow. I choose a diferent builder because of this issue for my third site. Now I am considering abandoning Concrete5 all together. There appears to be many with this same problem. So what's up with Concrete5?

Hi,
I checked your site listed on your membership bio and found:
1) Webpagetest.org shows a pretty slow (3 second... could be server?) time to time to first byte and bad caching of static content. Still - IMHO 5 sec load is not the end of the world
2) you have not resolved http:// and www. to be one site (set your .htaccess)
and
3) My antivirus flagged/blocked your other pages as being dangerous... could be related to issues?

Just verifying for you... the sites are snail slow. I'm in NYC with a FiOS connection that is pretty darn fast compared to DSL and Cable and both your sites are very slow. I thought the second one initially loaded pretty quickly, but then I clicked "About" and it went slow as hell just like the first website.

• Which version of Concrete5 are you using?
• Check your Versions of the different pages... do you have several versions from various hours of editing the content? If so, this could be your problem. I suffered slow-as-hell speeds for 2 years and only learned about this trick maybe 6 months ago: delete all the old versions of pages.

The brand newest version of C5 is supposed to have a lot of speed improvements, so if you're on the brand newest version and are this slow, then I am bummed to hear that. I am just about to use the brand newest version myself for the very first time. I've been using Wordpress for the past 8-10 months due to slowness issues with C5.

As Zoinks said... the newest release is Much faster and your dance site is about 4 versions out of date. An update should make a big improvement.
Still... newest version may not overcome server/hosting slowness if that is contributing to the problem :(

Does anyone know what the new Bitnami version is all about? I can't figure out from the description if there's some reason I should use the Bitnami installer or if it's just for people who run hosting servers.

Description:
"Bitnami No-Hassle Stack Installer

Bitnami has created an all-in-one install package for concrete5. Their installer includes all the necessary dependencies to run it in an existing stack, or download the version that includes a whole dev stack in the install. Available for Windows, OS X and Linux. Wow!

Download from Bitnami's site!"

Hey, I am back to build the a subdomain site on a different web address. I use an entirely different web builder because concrete 5 was way too slow, the issues did not resolve. ( I did not want to risk using a slow process on the main site.) So now I am going to attempt to build this on a subdomain.

Thank you for your replies. I am going to try it again. Things do seem a bit more faster now.

thank you! I will be back in communication if I have further problems.
