spacing between columns

I am using the grunge columns theme, and I have edited the column widths, and am having a hardtime getting the three columns to align in the container with equally spaced margins. I would like the background color to show equally on the outer edges of the left and right columns, and for the margin between the center block to be equal between the left and right block. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ive tried playing with the margins for the three columns, but havent had any luck. The website is apoprecords.com
thanks for the link, I found it very informative, but i'm still not sure how to incorporate his solution into my css. Im not concerned about the the columns all being the same length, and when I try to use his % method for spacing between the columns things still look off.
