One guess is that your last upgrade was incomplete and there is a table column missing.
I recommend updating to the latest version of concrete5.

Upgraded this morning to 5.7.5.6, but still the same problem. What is the correct procedure to restore an older backup?

There is a current bug issue for this with a solution:

I have tried all the options, but no luck.
In the meantime I have upgraded another website of mine (www.tonfro.co.za) on a different webhost to Concrete 5.7.5.6 and a similar SQL error occurs now.

Got it to work again. Removed some ad-dons and manually upgraded concrete 5.7.5.6 via dashboard.
What version of concrete5 are you using?
