Stack Version

Hi All
General question about Stack Versions.
I have a test site running 5.6.1.2 with sample content and Greek Yoghurt theme.
I found a left side bar stack in the 'Other Stack' area of Stacks and I made a simple change (added 123 to the end of a bit of text). The change took fine and all is hunky dory but I looked at versions and not having much experience of them I wanted to see what happened when I changed from Version 3 back to Version 2.
This is where I am getting confused, when I am logged in as admin I see on the page Version 3 but when I log out I see Version 2.
I have attached an image to show what I mean.
Can anyone explain why this happens? I think I must be missing something really obvious here.
Cheers
Alex

It's how the Version control works. The Approved version is what the public (non-logged in users) will see, but when you log in you will see the latest version, even if it is unapproved. It allows you to take your time editing a page or a stack until you are satisfied with the changes, whereby you then approve the version and both the admin user and the public see the same thing. If you only want to see the approved version, you need to tick the Version 3 and delete it, then refresh the page to see Version 2.
Ah ha, that explains it. Thanks for that, now I understand.
As I say I just never really use versions so it just seems odd.
Still not really sure why the latest version has to be shown to the admin, just creating a bit of confusion for the clients using the site but your suggestion about deleting the most recent version makes sense, thanks Julian.
