Strange character in edit mode

I have some strange characters turning up everytime I edit a standard content block. With the WYSIWYG or HTML editor.

I have checked my charset and all looks OK to me:

<html lang="en-US">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />

It's normally this ... Â (see attached).

It's driving me crazy and I'm sure it's a simple fix. Any help would be great :-)

Is the database character set also set correctly?

Hi,

Database is showing as:

MySQL charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)

Sorry,

Also showing as this too:

utf8_general_ci Unicode (multilingual), case-insensitive

Sorry, other than mis-matched character sets I have no further ideas.
