Suggestion: Add character counter to meta title and description attributes

Hi there,
I often have my marketers go into their pages directly to update the meta titles and descriptions themselves. Since SEO best practice is to have less than 65 characters for the title, and less than 156 characters for the description, it would be convenient to have a character count directly in the attribute section where they update these fields rather than having to go to another character count tool/site. It seems easy enough to do... include in the next upgrade?

I don't think this is super easy to implement. C5 uses standard attribute types for the meta title and the meta description. It's not a fixed field in the code or something.
I agree with you it'd be a handy feature.
Maybe there is a SEO add-on available or you can build one yourself?

Hi Akodde, You're probably right. I'm more on the Marketing side and not so much a programmer so it's probably very difficult. Still, it's a nice to have and I appreciate your thumbs up on the subject. I checked the marketplace for an add-on but couldn't find anything useful. And having my developer build one seems to not be worth the hassle since there are free tools out there. Again, it would just be convenient if it were already out-of-the-box, no biggie.
