Super Slow C5
Permalink
So, My job has been using C5 for their website for a little while now, and I really love how simple it is (a huge boon for my clients who dont want to have to figure out Joomla) For some reason on my Godaddy hosted server, everything is running really slow. It is only my c5, as my joomla installs are running speedily. Any ideas anyone? I know C5 is fast, so I dont know if something is wrong. I did have a couple of errors during install that I forgot to document. Wonder if i should try to reinstall? Thanks so much in advance
Well i guess its just godaddy, cause all my sites on this server are fluctuating on speed. sometimes fast, sometimes slow... :(
I was having the same problem, with pages taking 30 seconds or more to load. Following the instructions on this page fixed it for me:

i tried the first first one, and it messed up the site. I still think it could be godaddy... i seem to be having a lot of issues with all my other servers... i was reading that grid based hosting is not always a good thing, and i believe that is what I have...
Another thing is to ping trace your route to see if there are any other servers along the way holding things up. Ping Plotter has a free version here:http://www.pingplotter.com/freeware.html...
go daddy is not reccomend for C5, its a shared hosting environment, when static html caching comes out it will be fine, but for now, its not the best
I have a client on a GoDaddy server now and their site is running really slow. I've used all of the code fixes that Andrew posted in other threads and optimized images and to no avail.
Is this static cache enabled on the newest C5 release?
