Time based page versions

Hi,
Can some please give me an overview as to how you can make changes to a page, save those changes, but make new page version only show between a specified date range?
I have turn on advanced permissions so I know that you can make it so that a page isn't visible for a group until a specified date, but all the date restrictions seem to be just global page attributes that are not linked to page versions... or am I missing something?

For example, if I make changes to my page that I want to become public in 2 weeks, I can make my changes, set the public date/time to the future date, but if I approve the page version then this is instantly live?
Obviously I could leave it as unapproved but then I would have to manually go an approve the page version in 2 weeks time, which short defeats the point of setting a furture date.
Having spent time trying out C5 I am more than happy with how easy it is to use and extend but I just seem to have hit a bit of a wall here and am hoping I am misunderstanding something?
