Time Out Issue with Dashboard

We are having issues with ie and firefox timing out when trying to get into the dashboard. We are able to log in and then when we click on dashboard ie or firefox will be running and then time out. We have been able to get in a couple times after refreshing the site for a couple hours. Looking for help - thanks for any feedback.
