Trying to update from 5.4.0.3 to 5.4.0.5

When I go to /dashboard/system/update/

and click the "Download" button, I get the following message, and I tried it several times today:

The following errors occurred when attempting to process your request:
* An error occurred while downloading the package.

Anyone know what to do to fix that?

It's on 755 now.

Owner has write, group and public have read/exe.

What's kinda weird though is I just tried to change it to 777, and it acted like it took the change, but when I go back to look it's at 755.

And still not working to update as stated originally.

I have the same problem, updating from 5.4.0
Update::getApplicationUpdateInformation() returns following url for downloading new package:
http://www.concrete5.org/releases/concrete5.4.0.5.zip...

You can manually check it - 404 error.

Can anyone else shed any light on this, now trying to get to 1.4.2,

On a fresh vanilla install, from 1.4.1.1, installed logged in then tried to update.

Updates folder is 0775, but I still get the error
The following errors occurred when attempting to process your request:

I am able to update a few other sites so this is a weird problem? can anyone else point out a few other places that need correct permissions for an update?
