unable to add pages or choose page type after upgrade to 5.4.2.1

After upgrading to 5.4.2.1 we lost the ability to choose page types and the button for "add page" is simply missing.
Any ideas?

No!
I had all sorts of problems upgrading to 5.4.2.1. Spent two days and nights pulling my hair out.
The only thing that worked for me was to replace the old concrete folder with 5.4.2.1. But I might have upgraded to 5.4.2 first, because of the composer throwing a wobbly?
Cant remember now as I was so tired I was working with one shut.
