Unable to change Page Type on Home

Just installed Concrete5 and getting my feet wet.
I've installed a version without the samples.
My home page came up as 3 areas - header, main (leftside) and Side bar on Rightside. I played around adding blocks and then determined I didn't want the side bar on the home page. So went into Dashboard and saw that only one page type was showing - so I added some more - full page(Header and Main area) - Muti-area page and sidebar on left)
I've gone into edit home and design and select full page but it doesn' tappear to take. Any suggestions/direction appreciated.

You need to make the handle of your "full page" page type exactly this:
full

An easier way to do this is to first remove those new page types you created, then go to Dashboard -> Pages and Themes, and click the "Inspect" button next to the theme you're currently using. It will show available page type templates for other kinds of layouts (full page, left sidebar, right sidebar) -- click the "Activate Files" button to enable those and you should be good to go.

If you want to know the nitty-gritty details of why this works, let me know (otherwise I won't bore you with details as the above instructions should "just work").

Thanks - I actually renamed the "Handle" with an "F"ull.
once I changed it back to lower case - it worked fine.
I'll review your other steps and remove/re-add the page types.
