Unable to change the settings for page types.

Yesterday all of my pages of type BLOG were right handed, today they are all full width. I did not edit anything and lost all of the valuable information that was defaulted into the right hand column. (On well over 60 pages.)

In an attempt to change the settings of the page type back to right hand, I am able to push the button to say page type updated, and I receive the message that page type is updated. It is really NOT updated and remains at full width.

I was attempting this in dashboard-pages-types.

Any ideas?

Thank you so much in advance for your help on this!

When you say that you changed the settings did you click one of the radio buttons next to the large icons that look like page templates? I've attached a screenshot below. This is just the icon the page type uses and does not effect the actual layout.

Did you by any chance change the theme?

Either way, if you go to one of your blog pages while logged and click "Edit" in the top left corner. Then click "Design". Under choose page type what options do you get and which one is highlighted with a blue box around it?

Thank you for your insights - I have finally had some time to play with this. I have not changed the theme.

I also had not ever changed any of my blog_entry pages to full width, I need them all to be right hand.

I can't change the template in the dashboard.

When I go to an individual page as you suggested and click design, the design that is chosen is the right hand column. What is on my website is the full width.

Any other ideas? Thank you so much!!

Ok. What is the given name of one selected while under Edit->Design? The little word under the box. Example... "Blog Entry", "Full", "Left Sidebar" etc.

In edit - design - its marked blog entry. The icon shows a full width header, then two columns below, the right one a bit more narrow than the left one.

When I go to dashboard - pages/themes - page types - blog entry - this icon also shows two columns in settings.

I have created a blog_entry2 page with the correct configuration - but I have over 80 pages that would need to be changed to the new blog_entry2 page. I would love to avoid doing this by hand on every single page.

As I understand from the Concrete 5 documentation, changes to page types in the dashboard are executed to all of the pages in the website after edits are saved. This is the case for me, except for the stinkin' page layout.

I hope this info makes it a little more clear for you. Thank you again for all of your support.

I think I'm still confused. How did you create blog_entry2?

I created blog_entry2 as an experiment - a new page type to see that selecting the icon with right hand column would in fact, create a page with the layout I need.

So why am I unable to change the original blog-entry layout from full width to right hand? Even though it says right hand is selected, it is not.

Even more confused?

So you copied that blog_entry.php file to a file name blog_entry2.php?

No - I made it from scratch to prove that I should be able to assign a right hand column layout to a page type.
