Unable to create new pages—get logged out and pages disappear from sitemap

This is a new issue I'm experiencing just today. I have had no issue creating pages in the past, but today new pages are not able to be created. I am booted out of the system with a "forbidden" message when I attempt to publish a page in progress. Any thoughts on what may be happening would be appreciated.
