Update links to uploaded files

Maybe I am missing something, but I saw a discussion that the ability to replace an uploaded file was added to the file manager in 5.3. I am running 5.4 and I don't see it.

I have several pdf files that are linked to from multiple places in the website and also are updated often. As far as I can tell, when I upload a new copy of a pdf with the same name, there is no way to tell Concrete that it should replace the existing file. After I upload I have to find every link to that file and update it manually. I must be missing something. What is it?

You can replace each file, but not a set/group of files.
To do this:
1. Go to the File Manager
2. Click on the file
3. Choose 'Replace'
4. Upload the new file - OR - import it from the incoming folder or remote URL.

When you say "choose replace" from where should I choose it? It is not in the dropdown at the top of the page.
I am not seeing it.
