Updated to 5.5 and site has disappeared!!!

Today I finally updated our C5 from 5.4 to 5.5. Everything was working splendidly for about 20 minutes. Then I made a simple text edit to one of the pages and when I hit "publish edits" the whole site is down and it tells me I have an "internal server error", but no error number. Everything was working just fine with the new update, what in the world would have caused this, and more importantly, what can I do to get the site back ASAP!!

Since I now have no access to my C5 dashboard or anything, I don't know how to check for specific errors and can only access things through the ftp.
This is a very urgent problem! Please help!

(Yes, I did of course back up my database before updating, but I don't really know what to do with that - do I need to just restore the old database and try updating again?)

You can download the latest version of concrete5 from the below link.
http://www.concrete5.org/developers/downloads/...

Then upload all the files & folders to your "updates" folder on the root. Then try to load the site.
BTW the site is neither loading nor showing any error right now.

Oh my. This is scary (my client has a live radio show this morning, so I can't NOT get this fixed).
So I already had a file in the updates folder named concrete5.5.2.1, so I am deleting that and replacing it with the one by the same name that I just downloaded, in case it will make it work... (it will take a few minutes to fully upload it all) The fact that I already had that file in there though makes me skeptical about this. Crossing my fingers, and I'll let you know if it does anything.

You can try another thing during this mean time. Just create a html page named index.html & upload it to the root. The check whether it shows the page or not.

Hmmm.. I'm starting to get suspicious of my Hosting provider... Perhaps it is just a fluke that I just did a major upgrade. I assumed it was me, but now I'm having difficulty connecting through ftp too - which would mean it had nothing to do with concrete at all, but is the actual server. Hmph. Either way, I don't like it!

I'll let you know if I resolve this, but at the moment I can't even upload anything.

Sure enough, my host just had to have a server crash at the right moment to make me convinced I had done something to my site.... Silly me!

Haha, well, I'm just glad it's all up and running again BEFORE my client woke up to find his site gone! Yay! :-)
