Uploading Files
Permalink
Since another user have been doing something in the filemanger, the feature for uploading "single" or "multiple" files is just gone.
He doesn't remember what he did.
Please someone give me a hint how to restore so we can upload files again.

Thanks for the very quick reply mesuva. I'm using 5.4.2.2 and under filemanager - access the settings are like this:
Registered Users: Yes and All
Administrators: Yes and All
including Add Files
but it's still gone. Something else I can try?

That's very strange - looking at the code (quickly), the only thing that I can see that controls whether those uploading buttons are present or not are the file manager permissions. Also, I think if you are the admin, it actually always shows the controls, regardless of the settings.
Are you logging in as the admin user that was created when concrete5 was installed, or some other user?

I have only changed the password for my login.
There is only me as the admin and one user.
Since we didn't make with the website much progress maybe it's adviseable to delete and install again?

I think so, sorry I don't have any other suggestions!
Okay, hahaha, and me. But big thanks for the fast reply and if we couldn't fix it but it helped to make a fast decission to install anew.
Thx

After installing concrete5 again and checking with the filemanger I recognized when the problem started, that the box "Allowed File Types" for some reasons has been empty.
Could be this the cause for the problem?
Thank You.

Yep, that's it I reckon. I just tested this on a 5.4.2.2 site, and sure enough, removing the filetype list makes the upload links disappear. Well spotted.
It happend again, after installing a lot of add-ons, the "Allowed File Types" box is empty and the upload links are gone.
Hmm, I didn't copy the whole list but after adding just a few it appeared again. My mistake not to copy it before.
Can you give me the whole list when it is installed, please.

Right on. I'm on 5.5.1 That the same thing happened to me today.
No apparent reason. I haven't uploaded or made any changes in 3 day and all of a sudden the upload button was gone.
>> Check the file types (blank) filled in with suggestion above and it's working. Thanks!

In 5.4.x, log in, go to the dashboard, click on the File Manager and then Access.
In there you'll see some controls on what users can and can't do with files.
/index.php/dashboard/files/access/ is the path to that dashboard page.
In 5.5.x you are looking for 'File Manager Permissions' in the dashboard.
Either type that in the 'Intelligent Search', or click on Dashboard, System & Settings, then you'll find the File Manager Permissions under Permissions & Access
/index.php/dashboard/system/permissions/files/ is the path to it in this case.
