User permissions cocked up

Hi. Yesterday I updated to 5.6.3.3. I can't say whether my problems existed before or not.

I am the only user on my sitehttp://www.leadinglight.photo and, i assume, the super-user. However, I seem to be unable to access certain settings ('you do not have permission' etc). I set 'advanced permissions' to on, but I still can't figure things out.

I can't for instance, upload media. When I try adding a single file, the progress dots flash but nothing uploads. If I try 'upload multiple' I get a message 'can't add files' or something similar.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on please? Thank you.

Can you attach a screenshot of what you are experiencing with the File Manager? I've seen something similar when using Firefox, as it blocks Flash by default and the File Manager uploader uses flash. Also, when doing the single file upload do you get an errors in the JS Console?

Thanks also for this reply. See attachments, both from Chrome. The one with 'unable to add files' is from directly clicking the 'upload multiple' button, the other is for singe upload - in this case it allows me to browse files, choose then endlessly shows the '3-squares' progress bar but never uploads. Hope that helps.

Alright, you are definitely having a permissions mess of some kind. Are you 100% sure you are using the only user on the site and that it's userID = 1? What version of Concrete5 were you at before you moved to 5.6.3.3? Also, did you make a backup of the database before you did the upgrade?

I didn't make a note of the version I was on. I only upgraded because I had an issue logging in, where the 'checking for update' spinner continued endlessly. So I upgraded to whichever was suggested but then the current upgrade was also suggested, which is where I am now.

I did however make a database backup at the first upgrade.

I do have one other user which I believe was created to allow the ProBlog android app to access my site. This user appears in the user list above my regular user, but I see no number assigned to either.

Unfortunately without knowing the core version before the upgrade it's hard to rollback and try again. Do you know if it was 5.4.x, 5.5.x, or 5.6.x? I just know that if it was before 5.6 they changed the whole permissions scheme in 5.5.0 and 5.6.0 so if you didn't install those as you were upgrading it's possible the permissions updates didn't get done correctly.

Hmmm... I can't honestly say. However, the website is no more than a year old, dunno if that helps?

Did you upgrade by overwriting the concrete directory in the root of the site or by putting the concrete directories in the updates directory?

I upgraded from the C5 backend, not on the server.
