Vividcart Products
Permalink
I have used Vividcart for a number of ecommerce sites in the past. I am building a new site at this time. I am able to add Products to the site but when clicked, the details page does not open. I also can not seem to make the "Buy Now" button appear directly on the item listing, as i have occasionally done in the past.
Has anyone else run into this issue?

I concur with JohntheFish.
Vivid Store is dead, and seems to have been abandoned. Use Community Store.
I'm using it for a client project now, and it's proven to be solid.

I tried and it did not install to my project page but downloaded onto my actual computer, instead. I need it on the website, not on my machine. IDK what else to do now.
The timing really bites on this.

I just now searched it as an Add-On. Looks like this one is gone too. Is "Community Store" the exact name of it?
It hasn't been submitted to the marketplace, Community Store is only currently available through github.
The github organisation here is the place to start checking things out:
https://github.com/concrete5-community-store...
It holds the main repository for Community Store, plus a bunch of payment gateways and other resources.
A few moments ago I packaged up a new bugfix release of Community Store, which you'll find on the releases page:
https://github.com/concrete5-community-store/community_store/release...
For all the packages in the organisation, look to grab a release copy instead of downloading the master.

I have noticed it is not available yet. When will a version be available for use on websites? Is there a product similar to what i am looking for already available at this time?
Is there possibly a way to become a tester for this product so that i can use it in the meantime, until it is generally available? I would love to be part of checking out a new product and reporting all the things i find about it so the creators can make it as awesome as they choose!
You can download the zip from the second link @mesuva provided and install the package manually. Its MIT licensed, so you can help yourself.
Hi. I guess i am missing something here. It looks like that link is the same as the one from whence i downloaded the zip. Unfortunately, it downloaded to my computer, rather than to my site. Is there a way to upload it to the site, either directly from said link or - since i already have it now on my machine - from my machine.
It won't automatically appear on your site. You need to ** install the package manually **.
Hi, John. Is there a cost to this forum and answers on it? I have never used this site for questions before. I don't understand why you keep saying that the package must be intalled on the site but not giving clues, hints or a link to instructions for *how* that is to be done. Believe i am a very independent person and go through all options i find, each time before i come back here to ask for more clarification. Do you know how to perform this action? I understand a previous answer mentioned installing it into the /packages file, i believe. I am not looking at that comment at this moment but i did loads of guessing, searching and trying this thing and that before i came back and asked what that meant. The question was avoided and other information was given, which i also tried to find where and how to follow. I am fine to code from scratch and to do a fully prefab WYSIWYG assembly but this in-between world is a whole new universe to me.
Basically, what i want to know is *where* to install the package manually. From there, i am sure i am plenty capable of doing things.
1. Follow this link:
https://github.com/concrete5-community-store/community_store/release...
2. Download the latest release, it will be saved to your computer
3. Connect to your server with a FTP client
4. Copy the communitystore.zip to you /packages folder on your server
5. Unzip the ZIP File
6. rename the folder to "community_store"
7. Log in to your concrete5 site
8. Go to "extend concrete"
You should see community store there. Install it and you should be fine.

Sooooo.... That all worked well and all, right up until step 8. (7 probably but i was already logged in.)
The thing is that for some reason, it didn't work right the first time and at step 8, it said that it was "unknown" and a "broken package". I went back and deleted both the file and the zip for Community Store. While i was there, I went ahead and also deleted the Vivid Store (i won't be using it anyhow, why not just kill that extra bird while i'm here, rather than remove it from elswhere?) Hahahahahahaha! Joke's on me. What a silly prankster i am to myself! I broke my site! I go and all i get is a red error box saying that there is an error and that it involves not being able to find the package for the Vivid Store. Is there a way to recover the file or otherwise rectify the situation? I am going to prod around and try to find out, myself but this has been a three-day issue so far. It is not for my own site and i am in the middle of a huge overhaul on my site atm as well. Thanks in advance for any responses that consist of anything other than "you will have to remove C5 and reinstall, then start all over again". Heck, TIA for those too, if it is the only true fix.

BTB, Cahueya - Thank you so much for your step-by-step. I felt so excited and empowered when i was able to find where the FTP section was and use it on my server. I had never had a reason to do that on my own server, so it was like the old days, in college when i had to do it all the time but on the school's server.
YOU ROCK!
YOU ROCK!
Try putting the files back in place which you deleted - if you havent made any changes to the package files themselves, this should work.
After that, you can delete the unnecessary packages through the concrete5 interface.

Thank you for the suggestion. I had thought to do that and unfortunately, do not know where or how to find/retrieve a deleted file in the FTP interface.
This was forked from vivid store way back and is actively maintained and improved.
