What a frustrating experience Concrete is
Permalink
I installed Concrete CMS.
First order of business was to update the front page slideshow. Clicked edit, trashed the pics there, uploaded some of my own and...CSS error. Couldn't save. Fine, cancel. Try to edit again - permission denied. Eh?
OK, fine...I must have done something wrong. Nuke and reinstall. This time, add all pics and then delete old, yes, that seems to work.
Now I want to move the menu bar down. Grab and move and...site title is still up at top. "Add to Header Nav" is still at top. Hmmm...nothing will move them. Click and the options are only Add Block, Paste from Scrapbook, etc. Grrr.
OK, fine, I'll revert with the cool Versions feature. Oh wait...that doesn't work either. Try 9 previous versions...click Versions, check a version, click Approve, close, exit edit, pending approve, approve and...no change.
Nuke and reinstall? Nyah. It'd be another frustrating hour...
Concrete is pretty, and a neat idea, but...not quite ready for use?

Hi Raindog,
when I tried c5 for the first time I have a very confusing experience as well.
6 months after I when for it again, but this time I took the time to read the documentation and the how-tos!
You can get a great overview from the how-tos.
There are also many videos out there that show you how to properly start.

Sometimes we have to slow down in order to speed up. I hope everything starts coming together for you and if not then just keep asking questions, c5 is worth the effort.
