I have a concrete 5 theme. I what the layout but the entire theme (images/colors) I want to customize with my own. How can I do this? I want to customize the CSS and the files on my FTP.

You mean to customize certain pages or the whole theme?
I would like to add my own background images. (body, navigation area, header, background).
Ok, so you have a .zip file, containing a folder with C5 theme files.
You need to customize, right?
If you extract that .zip file you can simply edit the images, css, and any html and once done place the whole folder under /themes in your site.
You can further customize it after installation too.
