What is "Public Date/Time" for?
(In the Properties panel for a page selected via the Sitemap in the Admin Panel)
I don't suppose this governs when a page "goes live"? That'd be useful for timed content - but I guess that's achieved via Advanced Permissions?
Cheers.

its just a date assigned to the page.. if you look into sort order in page list or auto-nav you can sort by chronological. this is whats used for that. if you want timed releases, turn on advanced permissions
maybe I shouldn't use that field in my custom templates then ;-)
I'm using it to control the release there.. hmm.. hacking c5 (:

Appreciated :)
Timed releasing via advanced permissions works perfectly - but is there the option to specify an alternative "landing page" for attempts to load the page outside of the release times?
By default, the visitor is asked to log in - but this isn't appropriate if the timed-release page is public access. Instead, it would be good to specify a custom "Oops" page, or perhaps redirect to the homepage?
Cheers.

that's a good idea.. not sure how to best deal with it.. perhaps just a customizable "you don't have access" experience... the way timed releases work, it could be just you're not in the right group - its really a permission issue.. so i think you'd want to retain that control of "oh, that's right i'm not logged in, or im in my mom's lame-o account" for some other uses on it..
Hi, so is there a way to control the landing page so that when the user clicks on a pagwe with timed release in the future in the page list it goes to a custom page? or even just stays on the same page?
Thanks
Phil
Thanks

a part of it is available in the simple permission model as well. I guess the c5 core thought that "public date" is such a basic featuer that it should be in the simple model too...
