Where do I find my .php web files?

Hi, I am new to concrete5 and building websites. Where do I find the .php files? When downloading a new theme it just says "successfully installed" and I don't know where the files went. I have watched the tutorials and it seems that this is common knowledge because it is never explained where to go to edit them. please help!
However, don't edit anything there. Instead look up overrides in the howtos (and probably some more searches based on what you find), and that will tell you how to copy parts of a package and override them instead of editing the original files.
