Why do I have an unapproved Page Version and some on the list say "New"

Hello,
I need some advice. When I click on my Blog navigation because I want to add a blog, I first get that the page has an unapproved version. Please view the attachment of page versions. Can someone explain to me why on the list some say "New" and others don't? Is the bolded 57 the version that is seen by the public? I can't tell what Version 58 is, and is that the version that is asking for approval? I'm hesitant to approve a version when I don't know what I'm approving. I don't know how this happened or when. Can someone give me some advice?
