Why stack properties and page-type selections are only available from Sitemap?

Stacks are great way to delegate content editing to programming unaware people. They are great for product presentations, for instance: site developer can prepare a few stack layouts where under one hood there is image block, some text block, some multimedia, etc. And when new product comes to shop, site editors can create new stack from one of these layouts, put appropriate content in it and place it on pages easily. Updating product price this way is very easy - they can do it just on stack page and the change propagate too all instances on the site automagically.
But misfortune is while creating stack from "Stacks" screen neither page type nor attributes are available! They are only accessible through clicking on "Stacks" page in full sitemap having "show system pages" option on!
Why such a nasty restriction??? It is a tremendous misfortune as this renders CMS usability poor from the editor perspective. Definitely, "Stacks" require more complete interface and should be seen as regular structure element easily managed by site editors (not admins only)!
I hope you agree with that.
