Trying to add a youtube video to my site. but the block says, "Youtube video disabled". Please advise.

Did you publish your changes? The youtube video is only disabled in edit mode.
If you're seeing that outside of edit mode try clearing your cache. While you're developing a site it's safe practice to turn off all the caches as you will run into many issues like this.
